Evelyn Gong is the founder of The Law Office of Evelyn Gong, PLLC. She is dedicated to serving leaders in public interest, progressive politics and forward-thinking enterprises by providing efficient and practical solutions to operational and other legal issues confronting them on a day-to-day basis. This includes counseling non-profits, campaigns, political organizations and companies on contracts and general corporate, data security and other legal matters.
Evelyn was in-house counsel for the 2016 Hillary Clinton presidential campaign. She then served as Senior Attorney in Perkins Coie LLP’s Political Law Group. At Am Law 50 firm Perkins Coie, Evelyn represented federal and state-level candidates, members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, political party committees, political action committees, companies and non-profits, including charities and issue organizations. Using an intimate understanding of clients’ operations and unique culture, Evelyn served as a trusted partner to leadership teams by providing pragmatic advice as they sought to influence public policy or engage in elections.
Evelyn’s experience also extends to the corporate world; she has worked as in-house counsel at Fortune Global 500 companies such as Canon and Marsh McLennan. In each of these roles, Evelyn provided strategic, business-oriented advice to help clients understand and navigate legal and operational risks.
Over the years, Evelyn has provided pro bono services to local New York and other political campaigns. This includes handling voter protection matters to support these campaigns.
Evelyn is also an adjunct professor at her alma mater, St. John’s University School of Law, where Evelyn teaches Drafting: Contracts. She received a BA from the University of Pennsylvania. Evelyn is admitted to the New York State, New York Federal and District of Columbia Bars.
